Signs of Life Stream with Developer Alex on Tuesday, January 28th

Posted Image

On Tuesday Wes will be doing a big live stream of the game "Signs of Life" with the game's developer, Alex. Signs of Life is a 2D sci-fi sandbox game, with a combination of procedurally generated and meaningful hand crafted content. The game releases on Steam Greenlight/Early Access on Monday, January 27th...
The stream will begin at it's normal scheduled time, 11am CST, on Tuesday morning. The game's developer, Alex, will contact Wes via Skype around Noon CST. You will be able talk to the developer, ask questions and even win copies of the game!

For more information on the event, check out the event entry in the Calendar section of our website by clicking here.

The website for the game is playsignsoflife.com. Below is a trailer video for the game.

Sadly the multiplayer is the current WIP for the devs and not in the game yet :(  So I'll just be playing it myself. On the bright side, Starbound's final reset patch will be live soon and Chris and I will be streaming that again to kick off the community server launch!

All I can say is. Watch out for the chickens. #1 rule of every game.

It's just been released on steam early access, and is on sale till Feb 3rd for only $7.49. Think I'll wait till after I watch tomorrows stream though, see how it plays.

From what I've seen/heard, it's more of a story based playthrough of a sandbox style game. It has light horror elements via the exploration and trying to do the story line. I think the beginning of the game now is not the actual beginning of the story line that's intended. I think at some point in the story there's supposed to be some kind of space base thing you have to escape or something. Also, it's 1 planet right now but it's intended later on to be a lot more.

I guess we'll find out tomorrow!

How long do you think the main game took you Pat?

Hmmm, well for what was released thus far I think i played for like 5 hours 4 days straight so like 20. But you could prob do if faster if you knew how to find the lvl 2 machine faster. I kinda randomly stumbled on it while digging. But once you get the lvl 2 keycard I havent found much else to do

Took me about 12 hours.  Once you get your laser strong enough you can simply deconstruct the doors (probably bugged).  Also you can find the level 2 keycard thing (and extra gem recipes for weapons) by using the map function.  All the buildings have beacons, so they show up on the MEG map tool.

Ya I just randomly found that rayman and noticed the other dot. and after you opened those 2 doors I couldnt find anything else to do

Yeah the level 2 access is where the game technically ends right now. Not bad for 7.50. Will be cool to see the rest of it when it's added in.

Yeah.  I got down to the orangish rock and can't break it.  I suppose that is "future areas" because there are ores in some of the rock.

Had fun with what was on offer, but until they add some kind of co-op that I can play with my son, starbound is gonna be the game of choice.

Have you made the Jewel items yet? I have everything up to jewel. That stuff is crazy

Looks like it has potential. I am always skeptical though with this early access stuff. I bought Darkout almost a year ago because they said multiplayer was only a couple months away but its still not in yet.

Yeah Early Access is a way to get ripped off most of the time.
