Since January 2013 I became somewhat - no... VERY - aware that I had a stupid, silly, outrageous, ridiculous, bizarre, stupendous Backlog. I sat down and entered every game I had owned and still owned into Backloggery (http://www.backloggery.com/mrluchador) and made a vow - to work that Backlog down. TO BLITZ IT!
And so the Backlog Blitz was born. It started as 1 game a month, selected by Steam Roulette (http://steam-roulett...user=MrLuchador). No arguments, no complaining whatever game appeared on the Steam Roulette spin I would play. I would play it and stream it regardless of who did (or more often than not didn't) watch while I played. A few friends started to watch and it reminded me old times playing games with friends around, laughing at how bad I was at games, how bad the games were, and making quirky characters up from the in-game characters. I realised I missed those times and the jokes that would come from playing games, so I continued to stream.
However, for every game I managed to complete I was still buying 5-10 new games a month due to bundles and Steam Sales. Ultimately I wasn't making any progress on the Backlog Blitz, in fact the backlog was growing! I also decided that Steam Roulette was perhaps too slow, and seemed to have a very strange ability to throw out games that were terrible (which isn't really Steam Roulette's fault as they didn't buy 'em!). So the decision was made to move away from Steam Roulette slightly and just pick games to play, as after all Steam Roulette would never be able to select the console games I had.
In an attempt to curb the growth new 'rules' were created:
*No new games until 5 old games have been completed
*Don't buy bundles 'just cos'
*Each game I finished I'd review on Steam (if possible)
*Play the game until the credits roll
*Don't have to 100% a game
*If a game is truly horrible it can be abandoned
*Only 6 abandons a year!
I also decided that since is the only twitch community I'm part of I'd share the adventure here too, so I'll post my thoughts on the games I play here! I hope you enjoy the attempt, or perhaps the misery it's causing me... or maybes it's not for you, which is fine!

12 months later and I've managed to complete 24 games, which isn't too bad. Just over 2 games a month. The aim this year is to complete 52 games - 1 a week. It's a tough one, but the ability to choose which games I can play now should make it possible; after all not every game I have is a 30 hour monster!
