AirMarshallBen, CurryMuncher and I are thinking about doing a Play-Till-You-Drop multistream Civ V event on the 5th of April starting at 8 A.M. CST.  Would anyone else be interested in participating?

Depending on the version/expansions, sure!

Base game, no expansions needed (since I haven't got any of the DLCs).  I'm thinking marathon mode, but we can sort that out on game day.

Blast, I have extra clinical time that day so I can't play or watch.  Oh well, have fun!

Hmm, was hoping for at least G&K. Base game wasn't too good IMO, and G&K made up for that.

Yeah, base game is pretty dire once you've played with the Expansions.

Stay romantic, be nice, forgive the flawed person, and render humility. I put my trust in people, that means you. Nothing is gained if you squander that.

Yeah, that is a shame. I'm pretty much stuck with Civ IV BTS. Not that bad, but I hear there are desyncing issues with Civ V as well.

Disabling random events and syncronizing player caches helps getting that solved and gone though.

Basically, the host shares his cache files (zipped up) through TeamSpeak, which the other players can then download.

The other players drop those files into their cache folder so that everyone starts with the same cache when joining the game.

That cache is found at Users\...\AppData\Local\My Games\Beyond the Sword\cache.

It's quite possible that the game invalidates and replaces these cache files however, but I never bothered to find out as it just did the trick.

I've had the Caveman2Cosmos mod installed for quite a while now, so if anyone is interested in playing C2C or BTS, I'm up for it.
