Copied straight from the Alpha Forums - here -

Big Bag of Client Tweaks! (System.CFG)

If you have a good rig I've made some tweaks to the config file for the engine.
It makes a world of a difference in graphics quality.
  • Global Illumination
  • Increased Fog Quality
  • Increased Shadow Resolution & Quality
  • Normalized HDR Bloom and Level
  • Increased View Distance
  • Increased Object Rendering Distance
  • Increased Flora Rendering Distance
  • Enhanced ParticleFX (No more terrible clipping!)
  • Better Depth of Field
  • and more!

Versions: Most recent version is topmost.

You can find the file at ..\My Documents\ArcheAge\system.cfg
Open it with Notepad or another text editing program: Notepad++, Sublime, vim etc.
Just add the set below the already existing settings and overwrite the older tweaks if they exist.

If you can't find it, just copy and paste this in Explorer or Run:
%USERPROFILE%\My Documents\ArcheAge\

Field of View
You can alter the FOV settings by adding the following line to your system config file:
Code:
cl_fov = 60
Change the value 60 to your desired FOV.
WSGF has a very nice FOV calculator you can use: http://www.wsgf.org/fovcalc.php

Changes:
Version 4:
  • Disabled LOD Cvars, after plentiful testing and reports they seem hardcoded.
  • Increased Particle FX Quality.
  • Shadows are improved! As they properly cover an entire area instead of clipping 40ft in front of the character (Really big objects and buildings).
  • Shadows from light sources are now a higher resolution.
  • Wind effects! Certain vegetation meshes now move in the wind.
  • Water caustics now use deferred shading.

Version 3:
  • Crashing should now be fixed!
  • Screen space reflections now have glossiness
  • SSAO is disabled once again infavor of SSDO after performance testing

Version 2:
  • Enabled Scissor Test (allows for proper clipping when utilized, mostly by shadows)
  • Enabled PCF Shadowing
  • Full Deferred Lighting and Shaders
  • Improved Cloth Physics Simulation
  • Misc Character Animations IK and Physics
  • HDR Sound Ranges (Might be default already)
  • Dynamic Reverb
  • Further increased LODs and Render Distance

Just make sure you backup the files before changing. It can cause some issues for some people.

As this is graphic tweak, is there performance tweak?

I'm lagging when entering city.

Have the same issue when I use maximum graphics (adjusted in the game) or the lowest, the result is the same.

Maybe you can help

Thank you

Try different AA settings, maybe even turning it off, AA seems to be fairly poorly implemented thus far, it causes major performance inconsistencies. For example I average 60-80 FPS @ 1440p But with TSAA or MXAA turned on, something as small as a character running past me will cause me to drop down to 2 FPS for a short period before re-stabilizing whether it be on max or low settings. Other times there could be 30 characters on my screen and it will run smooth apart from random drops. The only AA option I can use myself is the PostAA and even that gives me issues in caves and dungeons. I hope this helps you but if not I’m sure there are optimization patches coming from Trion in the near future, there are some other known graphics issues that need to be fixed as well.

Thank you for information, tried these settings, it gives a little improvements but still drops FPS ((

Yes, ofcourse

DX9 had most performance issues.
Switched to DX11 and it was really different in peformance, but in big citys or in big PvP battles it freezes alot

just to be clear, I have tried everything that was in in-game configurations, my question is, is there configuration for performance like in configuration file, not in-game.

Or some patch or something, cause my PC setup should be more than enough to play at-least at medium graphics
