So in the monthly update CIG mentioned integrated command and control and slaving sensor systems.  This presents MASSIVE implications for battles and warfare.  This means battles wont just be flinging ships at each other, but a coordinated effort to entice enemies into tactical errors, situational awareness becomes important on an inter-player scale.  More importantly, the way battles are commanded changes.

Thoughts?

Having a C&C would be a benefit to us if we do just happen to be in a large conflict. Better situation awareness would be a good thing in cases like that. Hehe flinging ships out to die would be a bad thing for us and costly to boot. Plus with the whole permadeath thing, I would not be happy if I was told to just go and fight an already lost battle.

Extremely interesting and also intimidating. This could end up being the most tactical, skill based fighting game of all time.

I'll have more to say about it once Hull Truth is done this week.

I'd like to contribute a bit, at least on thoughts about this.  After all, I learn about this for a living.

I'm thinking more E-3 Sentry AWACS.
