Now updated with the correct mats! I also added the skill level needed for each tier.

So, by demand following Soulztealer's post on cloth armor crafting, I decided to to a breakdown of the mats needed to craft plate armor.

These are quite expensive and, just like with cloth armor, if you want a better set of armor, I will need to craft the first tier until I get a higher quality item as this will increase the chance of getting a blue or purple with the least number of mats. Remember, the previous tier armor is a required ingredient in each recipe (I can't just craft the highest tier, I need to start from the lowest tier and work to the top, e.g. crafting a Craftsman's Helm requires the Apprentice Helm).

Also to keep in mind, once you get above the Conqueror tier (lvl 40) you are not guaranteed to continue upgrading the armor. The higher tiers provide sealed armors that provide one of 7 (I think it is 7) possible armor sets with different stats. In order to craft the next tier, the sealed armor has to be the Quake set, otherwise you are stuck at that level. Combined with the fact that your armor can lose quality (go from purple to blue for instance) rarely, and it means that getting a full set of Delphinad armor with the stats you want and of high quality is going to be extremely expensive.

Yeah, there is a reason leveling metalworking is taking a while. I have burned through a huge amount of iron and moonlight essence. Definitely over 100g worth of mats and haven't even made it to 10k. Luckily fishing brings in a bunch of essence with lockboxes and I just made 360g off of a thunderstruck log.
